“If a business can’t afford to give 1% back, then they really shouldn’t be in business at all.”

“If a business can’t afford to give 1% back, then they really shouldn’t be in business at all.” says owner Ali Abrahimia.

Back in 2009 Ali met SoungForest founder Thomas Solinsky and a “bromance” was instantly born. Ali was utterly in awe of Thomas’s determination and will to fulfill a simple yet difficult task: Plant Trees.

“If you want to help the planet then help Plant It” says Thomas. What started as an idea to replant his neighborhood has since grown into an overseas venture and is approaching 20,000 trees planted. From accelerated hospital patient recovery times to increased revenue for businesses. Trees have more to offer than lumber and oxygen.

VOLUNTEER WORK

When it comes to paid vacation many of us would opt for beaches and margaritas but instead, general manager Chad Harris chooses to volunteer overseas. Shown carrying a disabled woman, Chad helps the local villages with medical needs.

“It’s no paradise but helping others in need actually ends up helping me appreciate all that I have.” says Harris.

Ride Bikes. Live Better.

Local non-profit Nashville Bicycle Alliance, promotes commuter cycling in a number of ways such as: group rides, bicycle safety, bicycle maintenance, and community service.

Shown en-route with his pooch Chewy, Abrahimia is a founder member of the Alliance and a dedicated commuter cyclist.

“I’m so pressed for time that riding a bicyle is a great way for me to transport while also getting some exercise.” Having given up his automobile in 2011, Abrahimia is dedicated to cycling as his way of transportation around Nashville, TN.

A divistion of the Nashville Bicycle Alliance, the “Green Angels” is a synchronized bicycle stunt team. When not having beers or signing autographs the team can be found volunteering, educating, and performing daring stunts such as riding with no hands or pseudo bunny hops.
