Monogram Wall Decals and a Perfect Wedding. . .
Posted by Walls Need Love on 2/20/2012
The perfect wedding takes planning, and planning, and then more planning. Of course, it also takes money -- lots of it. That's where Dad comes in. It's also where Dad leaves the room and encourages us to elope. No way! Mom and I have dreamed of this day for years. The long white gown, the flowers, the music, the cake, the reception with a band and a catered mealhow could I ever fulfill this fairy-tale dream if I simply eloped?
Pink Isnt Just for Girls: Nursery Wall Decals to the Rescue
Posted by Walls Need Love on 2/14/2012
OK, so I'm not the most ambitious guy around. Still, it's not fair for Joanna to call me lazy just because I don't want to repaint the nursery. The paint job still looks good. After all, it was just done two years ago. Why go through all that again?
Vinyl Wall Art: Never Again Worry About Crooked Pictures
Posted by Walls Need Love on 1/23/2012
Who knew vinyl wall decals could solve my problems and make my apartment a home? I hate bare walls but I also hate tilting picture frames. Don't laugh. Crooked pictures drive me crazy, but no matter what I do, I just can't get the darn things to hang straight. I measure. I mark with a pencil, just like Dad says I should. I buy the special little hangers that won't leave big holes in the wall.
Stencil Shadows and The Superiority of Wall Decals
Posted by Walls Need Love on 1/14/2012
My friend Carolyn had tried so hard. Trying hard doesn't always equate to success, however . . . Like when my husband and I had our first child and tried everything we could to soothe our colicky baby for four months straight. Anyways, back to Carolyn. As I waited for dinner to be served, I looked over at the wall adjacent to her dining room table and noticed a new coat of red satin paint on the wall. Underneath the paint I could barely make out a wall quote.  . . (Read More)
Novel Nuances: The Saga Continues
Posted by Walls Need Love on 1/3/2012
My new businesses were coming along nicely, although the customers were a little odd. OK, they were a LOT odd. First Darla wanted bats and skulls, plus a quote about the Undead. Darla's dog, Killer, and her mom, who carried around a butcher knife, made that job doubly interesting...

After the first customer for Wonderful Wacky Wall Art, I was a little nervous while waiting for the next call. Then I told myself, sure, anybody can get a seriously weird customer. That doesn't mean all your calls will be from strange people. I waited but no calls came. It's a tough year to launch a new business. . .

HO! HO! HO! And to All a Good Night!

Marcie here. Yeah, I'm still working at the community college advisor's office. Same-o, same-o. I'm busier than ever, too. And now, guess what? My boss is getting in the Christmas spirit, big-time, but he wants us to do the work. . . (continued)
How to Decorate for the Holidays with Christmas Wall Decals
Posted by Walls Need Love on 12/7/2011
One great thing about vinyl wall art is that a cat has never climbed Christmas wall decals and brought them crashing down to scatter broken pieces of ornaments all over the living room. Vinyl stockings won't fall off the walls onto the floor to be chewed up by Rover. Plus, with wall decals. . . (Continued)
Wall Art Business Revived: the Wacky Interview
Posted by Walls Need Love on 11/29/2011
As I said in my last blog post, I had revived my wall art business using monogram wall decals--er, that is custom-painted wall monograms, wall quotes in calligraphy, and art accents. Actually, I'd started up in four communities under different . . . (continued)

Thanks to relocation to a new area, the saga of my custom wall-painting business continues! I am more careful to conceal the source of my new-found artistic talents, but business is great! Designing the Perfect Room for My Nephew (AKA My Babys Uncle)
Posted by Walls Need Love on 11/20/2011
Jane here. Imagine my surprise when Cynthia and Brad the Dad announced they are expected a baby brother for Jonathan! Life does get interesting. Here I am ready to have their first grandchild, in only 6 weeks, and now this. Well, the babies will be close enough in age to be playmates. . . (continued)
Brad the Dad's Christmas Eve Surprise
Posted by Walls Need Love on 11/16/2011
Brad the Dad's birthday is Christmas Eve. Can you believe it? So I decided to create my special wall calligraphy and designs (otherwise known as vinyl wall decals) for that special day. I told him I would need to close off the den for at least a week and work in absolute isolation -- and no peeking! I swore the whole family to stay out of the den and not open the door at all so I could work in total privacy. . . (continued)
Part 2: Jane Impresses Her Mother-in-Law with Wall Decals
Posted by Walls Need Love on 10/31/2011
This was the big day. My wonderful creative paintings, otherwise known as vinyl wall art, would reveal my heretofore unknown artistic talents. I nervously put the finishing touches on my masterpiece. Although I had kept the nursery doors shut for two months to allow plenty of time to “concentrate” on the meticulous project, the whole thing took about three hours.
Nursery Wall Decals: Jane Impresses Her Mother-in-Law

A satisfied customer recently wrote in . . .
“I joyfully looked over the nursery wall decals at Walls Need Love.com and patted my baby bump with a smile. I had found vinyl wall art. It looks like original paintings. Even a great artist like, say, Andy Warhol would be fooled if he hadn't seen vinyl wall art before. At last, a way to FAVORABLY impress my mother-in-law!
Custom Vinyl Wall Art Painter Back in Business . . . or Not
Posted by Walls Need Love on 10/21/2011
Business idea based on fraudulent art claims goes bad. It seemed like a great idea: claim artistic prowess that enables the entrepreneur to paint flawless works of calligraphic art. Instead, use vinyl wall art from Walls Need Love. Too bad the customer caught on.
Vinyl Wall Art Revolutionizes the Renaissance
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 10/13/2011
Ever wonder if Da Vinci wished he had made the Mona Lisa out of vinyl instead of oil on canvas? While a vinyl wall art order takes only around an hour to hand craft using state-of-the-art machinery, Da Vinci spent over four years painting Lisa del Giocondo, and still never finished his masterpiece. Maybe if the Mona Lisa model hadn’t had to sit still for four years while Da Vinci pondered the best way to depict shadows and the appropriate landscape backdrop, the famous lady. . .
Services Offered: Custom-Painted Wall Quotes
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 10/9/2011
To an untrained eye, wall decal quotes look eerily like a professionally-painted masterpiece. Armed with this knowledge (and motivated by a parasitic student loan), I placed a Craig’s List ad. I listed my service as a talented painter. I made it clear that I was not the right guy if you simply wanted some paint slapped on tired walls. I described how I specialized in custom designs including calligraphy-type painting of inspirational messages. I also mentioned that I would provide clients with over 100 wall quotes and numerous color choices from which to choose. I uploaded images of a few of my wall decal quotes (“custom design options” I called them) to the listing for good measure. . .
Wall Decals Turn You Into A Design Rockstar!
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 9/30/2011
Every time I’ve watched a show on HGTV where the designer is using wall decals to accent a wall, it seems like the selection was as simple as the application. The reality is that not everyone is an HGTV show host with extensive design training (and an even more extensive staff!). Those of us living in the real world are left admiring how perfect the designer’s room looks, but at same time wondering how an ordinary person can approach the design dilemma of a bland wall. . .

Dundie Decals
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 9/11/2011
Our company has adopted its own version of the Dundies. Instead of taking place at Chili's, our remake of this tradition started on The Office takes place at our company Christmas party. In lieu of a Dundie trophy presented to each Office employee by Michael Scott, our boss gives each of us a wall decal based on our personality and performance over the past year. I popped open the poster tube holding my Dundie decals and pulled out several tree wall decals. I unrolled the gift and laughed when I saw the green leaves and blossoming branches on each tree wall decal. My boss and the entire office joined in with rounds of laughter. My Dundie tree wall decals were not picked based on my stellar performance, amazing team morale, or even on the fact that I was in the running for the office's longest engagement, but instead, because of a small mistake I had made . . .
The Magic of Nursery Wall Decals
Posted by Walls Need Love on 9/8/2011
As I opened the creaky, flaking front door, I wasn't sure what to think. Our newest purchase was a three bedroom, two bath 1930s bungalow on the east side of town. "What am I going to do with this place?" I asked out loud to no one in particular. I jumped at the sound of another voice yelling out "Just fix it up"; thankfully, it was just my fiance' standing in the open front door.
Butterflies in my Stomach, Butterflies on the Walls
Posted by Walls Need Love on 8/30/2011
I just kept repeating to myself, "You are not a hopeless klutz. You will not mess this up. It is only baby wall decals, not brain surgery. You can do this." However, I still had my doubts. Even though for a normal person (and all my co-workers) applying baby wall decals is a simple and pleasurable task, for me, it was a source of intense stress. You may be wondering how I am able to hold down a job at a wall decal company; to put it bluntly, I am a bean counter, not a decal designer. If you were to take a look inside my house, you'd never know that I was an accountant by trade; I guess that all my exactness and attention to detail are used up at work. . .
Tree Wall Decals and Red Ryder: Catalysts for the Perfect Storm
Posted by Walls Need Love on 8/20/2011
Here around the office, we've been taking turns blogging about our personal experiences with wall decals. Of all the mad skills I possess, writing has never been one of them; naturally, I was dreading my turn as blogger of the week. Up until a few days ago, that is. Inspiration for my post could not have come at a more perfect time. . .
Nursery Wall Decals that Grow with your Child
Posted by Walls Need Love on 8/10/2011

Any parent who tells their child, “You can be whatever you want to be as long as you set your mind to it,” is flat out lying. Take me for instance; I reached my adult height of 4 feet 10 inches tall at the tender age of 12. Even if I’d wanted to, there was no way I would have ended up in the women’s NBA. I couldn’t even make the recreational basketball team in the fifth grade! I’m not sure if it was my height (or lack thereof) or the fact that I only made one out of 25 free throw attempts during tryouts that cut me from the team, but either way, I was devastated.

Nursery Decals to the Rescue
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 7/27/2011
Coed baby showers have to be one of the worst ideas in the world. Come on, what dude wants to spend a Saturday afternoon drinking punch and watching a pregnant woman ooh and ahh over strollers, diapers, and tiny outfits that say ridiculous things such as Mommy's little alarm clock? I guess the fates aligned against me last weekend. . .

Wall Decals Add Love to Your Dorm Room Walls
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 7/13/2011
With the new school year just around the corner, I cant help but think back to my college days. I clearly remember the day I moved into my freshman dorm. As soon as I peered into the 12 by 12 space that I was to live in for the next nine months, four stark white walls stared right back at me; I seriously thought that there must be upperclassmen somewhere sitting on a committee that decide just how bad freshman dorms should be. Here I was, 18 years old, facing the challenges of leaving home, meeting all new friends, eating inedible cafeteria food, and deciding my career. The last thing I needed was to stare at four sad white walls while trying to adjust to life with a roommate who had chosen Spiderman themed bedding. Dont get me wrong--I dont have anything against Spiderman; in fact, I liked the movies pretty well. But for your dorm room bedding? Come on, really? If any walls were ever in need of love (and detraction from my roommates comforter), it was my dorm room walls. . .
Make the Apartment Homey with Vinyl Wall Art
Posted by Walls Need Love on 1/30/2011
Charlie here. I guess its true what they say about hope springing eternal. My new apartment is looking so homey with the vinyl wall decals, I decided to build a book shelf. I'm good at a lot of things like studying and getting good grades. I'll soon have that degree in psychology, and even a job after graduation. . .
