Vinyl Wall Art Revolutionizes the Renaissance
Posted by WallsNeedLove on 10/13/2011
Ever wonder if Da Vinci wished he had made the Mona Lisa out of vinyl instead of oil on canvas? While a vinyl wall art order takes only around an hour to hand craft using state-of-the-art machinery, Da Vinci spent over four years painting Lisa del Giocondo, and still never finished his masterpiece. Maybe if the Mona Lisa model hadn’t had to sit still for four years while Da Vinci pondered the best way to depict shadows and the appropriate landscape backdrop, the famous lady would have given us a toothy grin. Centuries spent wondering what Lisa’s enigmatic smile meant could have been spent addressing bigger issues such as perfecting air travel or concocting a perfect peanut butter fudge recipe. In addition, had the Renaissance artist been competent in wall decals, transporting the famous artwork to Paris’ famous Louvre wouldn’t have been such an ordeal: simply peel the Mona Lisa off its existing surface, transport to the famous museum, and reapply to the correct gallery wall.

Michelangelo‘s four years of backbreaking labor painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel could have been drastically decreased had he known about vinyl wall art (or in Michelangelo’s case, vinyl ceiling art). The only problem with the idea of Michelangelo using vinyl art is that the famous artist often faced mold and mildew problems due to moisture in the ceiling plaster; we all know that wall decals can only be applied to clean, dry, smooth surfaces. Michelangelo could have dedicated so much more time to sculpting, his true passion, had he simply been able to construct the Creation Story out of vinyl. Then, using the scraps from the vinyl wall art, the famous Renaissance artist could have created some amazing plastic figures that would have put both Renaissance and modern artists to shame.

Too bad German Renaissance artist Albrecht Durer didn’t have access to vinyl wall art supplies. With a little design work, he could have reproduced his famous monogram signature as a monogram wall decal. In addition to monetizing his paintings, sculptures, prints, and engravings, Durer could have banked even more coin had he sold monogram decals. In spite of having a large workshop to produce his woodcuts and other art forms, the German Renaissance artist apparently never added wall decal machines to his repertoire. If each of Durer’s works had featured a small carefully applied monogram wall decal in the bottom right-hand corner, numerous liberal arts students (including myself) wouldn’t have failed art history class in college. Who can really tell a Rembrandt from a Durer or Botticelli anyways? Now a custom WallsNeedLove decal – that’s a masterpiece no one can mistake.
