Designing the Perfect Room for My Nephew (AKA My Babys Uncle)

Jane here. Imagine my surprise when Cynthia and Brad the Dad announced they are expected a baby brother for Jonathan! Life does get interesting. Here I am ready to have their first grandchild, in only 6 weeks, and now this. Well, the babies will be close enough in age to be playmates.

"I have a request," Cynthia put in almost shyly. "Your wall art is so nice. Would you consider doing some for our nursery?" "I'd be honored. One custom-designed nursery on the way." I would look over the nursery wall decals at Walls Need Love.com and make a plan. Their nursery decals and custom text would make any room sing out welcome to the new arrival.

"Where will the nursery be?" I asked. "Julie's old room next to ours," replied Cynthia. "Brad wants clouds and butterflies, but that's too similar to your beautiful nursery. I think maybe a night sky theme would be better, don't you Darling?" "Yeah, that'd be good. With his name and a nice bit of poetry. Or maybe a quote from Good Night, Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. It's a timeless children's classic. Yeah. I want that quote."

I thought fast. The custom text tool would come in handy. I could get the book out of our local library and look for some nice quote. And I do think there is a night sky theme available in the nursery wall decals -- err, that is custom-painted nursery wall art.

Jonathan came over to put his arm around my waist. "You sure it won't be too much work for you right now? It could wait until after she's born. I could watch her while you work."

"Don't be silly. I'm fine, fit and full of energy. I can get started on it right away. Just give me a couple of weeks to work out design details."

When we got home, I fired up the old computer and went to Walls Need Love.com to pick out nursery decals. They had a great night sky with shooting stars, regular stars and a perfect quarter moon.

The next day I picked up that book at the library and found a nice quote. "Goodnight room. Goodnight moon." Perfect. Ordering the nursery wall decals and using the custom text tool for the quote took only a few minutes. Id have my nursery decals in a few days.

I love being an artist. Using vinyl wall decals makes the job easy, quick and oh, so fun. And the results are magnificent. You could even fool me.
